GGA partnered up with Westdale Real Estate Investment and Management, a Dallas-based real estate company, to introduce world-class public art into the vibrant Deep Ellum neighborhood. The program produced site-specific art installations by six international artists placed throughout the area. Original works by Kelsey Montague, Leon Keer, Maya Hayuk, Mantra Rea, Sen2 Figueroa and Joe Iurato were added to the rich history and cultural fabric of Deep Ellum and the flourishing Dallas art scene.

Kelsey Montague is an American mural artist who is known for her wing-inspired artworks on the walls of major cities like New York and Buenos Aires. The New York-based painter, who hails from a family of artists, was quite young when she started painting. The well-travelled muralist, who loves to incorporate her experiences into her work, has emerged as one of the most admired artists on social media.

Dutch artist Leon Keer has colored the world with his street art on walls and floors and has been working on a large scale of different works of art from his studios in The Netherlands and Italy for more than 25 years. During his career Leon Keer often presented his art by performing as a street artist where he shares the joy of painting with the public. At this moment Leon Keer is a world leading artist in anamorphic street art. The anamorphic pieces created on floors and walls are shared via social media all over the world. A message seems to be present in his contemporary work.

With their symmetrical compositions, intricate patterns, and lush colors, Maya Hayuk’s paintings and massively scaled murals recall views of outer space, traditional Ukrainian crafts, airbrushed manicures, and mandalas. Hayuk weaves visual information from her immediate surroundings into her elaborate abstractions, creating an engaging mix of referents from popular culture and advanced painting practices alike while connecting to the ongoing pursuit of psychedelic experience in visual form.

Born in Metz, France in 1987, Mantra is a self-taught artist and muralist who has been painting since 2008. He grew up between the noise of the city and the whispers of the surrounding countryside, and his works pay homage to the heroes of his childhood garden in France such as butterflies, owls, spiders and birds in a realistic and lively style. Mantra works to create organic relationships between his subjects and their environments — known around the world for his magnificent murals that combine exquisite colors and enormous detailed subjects — with the intention of leaving his mark in urban areas like repeated mantras; hence his nickname.

Sandro Figueroa Garcia, artistically known as Sen2 Figueroa was born in 1969. He grew up in Canteras, a neighborhood of Santurce, Puerto Rico. Sen2 evolved from spray painting wild-style pieces to developing mixed media works on canvases. He moved from classical New York graffiti art to a combination of graphic lettering styles with 3-D elements, imagery of pop art, and abstract art techniques.

Joe Iurato is a New Jersey based multidisciplinary artist whose foundation is built on stencils and spray paint. An internationally recognized street artist, gallery and commercial artist, Joe’s known for having a distinctly clean and illustrative style that lands somewhere between minimalistic and photorealistic. At the heart of his work are the stories, each shaped by personal experiences, influences and observations.
